Control your emotions

Amid other things, competing also means having a brave attitude that encourages riders to keep themselves in control both physically and mentally. Technique aside, the thin mix of motivation, stress, anxiety and fear can become a fundamental element as far as success or failure are concerned. Controlling one’s emotions and fear before a show is very challenging. There are some riders, for example, who may be unable to sleep the night before a competition. The first thing to do in these cases is to give oneself time to reflect while preparing, and be able to isolate oneself totally before entering the arena by focusing on precisely what one wants to achieve.
Controlling one’s breathing is also crucial so as to eliminate stress: one should breathe deeply and hum. Always bear in mind that one should enjoy what one does. If motivated one is capable of accomplishing incredible things!
