Domina dei Basini was the first foal out of Foster, a young and remarkable broodmare having 3×2 inbreeding with the progenitor Contender. In addition to the exceptional son of Calypso II, Foster’s pedigree also includes all the great stallions of the Holsteiner breed, such as Capitol I, Acorado I, Lord and Cor de la Bryere. Her sire is the Holsteiner stallion Acodetto I, who has already sired several international 1.60m class show jumpers such as Atlodetto, Acapulco FZ and Lazzaro delle Schiave.

Kannan is admired all over the world and since 2010 has been permanently ranked among the 10 best stallions according to the WBFSH (1st in 2014, 2nd in 2015). Three of his offspring jumped in the final rounds of the Rio Olympic Games; and also includes horses such as Nino des Buissonets, Olympic Champion in London in 2012 ridden by Steve Guerdat, Molly Malone (Bertram Allen) and Quabri de l’Isle (Pedro Veniss). The list of international winners he has sired is, however, never-ending.
Second dam
Domina dei Basini’s second dam Ceres,descends from the Holsteiner 318d2 family, the same as that of noteworthy stallions such as Corofino I and II, Diarado and Douglas VDL. Ceres has produced a number of international showjumpers, such as American Dream (2005 by Chin Chin), ridden in 1.40m classes by R. Linssen; Sofia d.V. (2003 by Quidam de Revel), 1.45m classes ridden by G. Sacco; Adelscott (2004 by Stakkato) ridden in 1.50m classes by F. Garzilli.
