Aliciais a broodmare owned by Basini Breeding, where besides Cubalibre, she has produced ten other offspring including a number of international winners such as
Sasha dei Basini.Alicia was selected as a young mare thanks to her jumping abilities, her morphology and powerful, extended and elastic movements. What makes Alicia interesting as a broodmare, however, is her important and rare pedigree. She was sired by the outstanding Hanoverian stallion Stakkato, already remarkable in his youth when he won the Bundeschampionship both at the ages of 5 and 6. Having continued to have a perfect jumping style, Stakkato excelled ridden by Eva Bitter, winning 1.60m Grands Prix as well as competing as a member of the German Nations Cup team on several occasions. Named stallion of the year in 2007, ever since 2011 he has been at the top of the German genetic ranking alongside his offspring Stakkato Gold. Stakkato’s best offspring include showjumpers Souvenir, Satisfaction, Amico Mio, Sambuca, Ukato and the approved stallions Spartacus TN, Scendix and Stalypso.
Alicia’s dam Angelina was sired by another great Holsteiner stallion, Acord II, a very important sire whose offspring includes horses such as Imperium, Acorado, Atlantic and In Style, but also the sire of excellent broodmares. Offspring include
Breitling LS (Quintero x Acord II), winner of the 2018 World Cup final ridden by Beezie Madden, as well as
Carly 10 (by Contefino) who competed in 1.45 classes ridden by Ann-Kathrin Brune.
Her second dam, Corlett, is by Calypso II and also a full sister to the Hanoverian stallion Colani.
